Going to Japan!

Tokyo is huge. If you think New York is big (and you can include all the boroughs too) greater Tokyo is over 7 times that size. That doesn't even include Yokohama (which Tokyo blurs into now that it is so big.) Scary. And the traffic is like what you find in Boston. Kind of the worst of both worlds that way.

This is Shibuya. Pretty busy place- and it was empty this day compared to normal. That's where these two pictures are from. Like the Times Square of Tokyo.
Just like most big cities they have streets closed to vehicle traffic so it's fun to just walk anywhere. As long as the weather is good anyway.

And then when you think it's all concrete there are a few cute and very expensive neighborhoods mixed in. This one was where we went for dress and tuxedo fitting. Whole thing lined with Ginkgo trees!

More entertaining is that there is no Chinatown in Tokyo but there is one in Yokohama, and it is the cleanest one I have seen anywhere by far. Not a piece of trash visible and no scary people roaming around either. Who knew? Of course it's even weirder to hear people speaking Japanese in Chinatown than English :)

And in case you were wondering, this is what a well protected child at the beach looks like. Rough life, hunh?

Bye everybody!
